Decentralized arterial traffic signal optimization with connected vehicle information

چکیده

This paper proposes a decentralized signal control algorithm that leverages connected vehicle information to improve traffic operations along arterials. The proposed obtains real-time locations and speeds, as well on pedestrians waiting cross individual intersections, optimize phasing timing plans. Signal is optimized at intersections; however, about platoons passing given intersection shared with neighboring intersections facilitate natural coordination between adjacent intersections. compared centralized optimizes all simultaneously, traditional strategy. shown both be more computationally efficient than the approach provide better operational performance (in terms of person, pedestrian delay) robust range demand patterns can applied under scenarios in which not vehicles are or full arrivals available.
